Gŵyl Gwyddgig 2024 / Gwyddgig Festival, Mold

Mae Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam wedi trefnu gŵyl gymunedol Gymraeg newydd yn Yr Wyddgrug ar Ddydd Sadwrn Mehefin 15fed.   Bydd Gwyddgig yn ddathliad diwylliannol a chelfyddydol gyda cherddoriaeth byw, gweithdai i deuluoedd a phobol ifanc, sgyrsiau i ddysgwyr a mwy. Yr hyn oll am ddim.

Bydd Sgwâr Daniel Owen a’r Stryd Fawr yn llawn bwrlwm wrth i ysgolion lleol, Gwilym Bowen Rhys a Morgan Elwy berfformio ar ddiwrnod marchnad. Bydd cyfle hefyd i ymuno mewn gweithdai theatr gyda Theatr Clwyd, Celf a Chrefft yng nghanolfan Daniel Owen, Sioe i blant ‘Sigl-di-gwt’ gyda Tudur Phillips, gweithdai DJ yn Neuadd Santes Fair, Twmpath Teulu a llawer mwy…

Ar Ddydd Mercher Mai 29ain (Hanner tymor) bydd artist lleol Natalie Griffiths a’r fenter yn cynnal gweithdy crefft i greu baneri i addurno Gwyddgig yn Llyfrgell yr Wyddgrug.  Bydd y sesiwn bore yn gyfle i ddylunio’r baneri mawr a’r prynhawn yn sesiwn agored i’r gymuned ‘alw-mewn’ i addurno a lliwio’r baneri. Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam are organising a new Welsh community festivalin Mold on Saturday June 15th called Gwyddgig, which will be a celebration of arts and culture with live music, workshops for young people and families, chats for learners and more. All for freeduring the day.

The Daniel Owen Square will be a feast for the senses as local school children will be performing to entertain the crowds on Market Day. Families, young people, and the community will be able to immerse themselves in the language by joining Theatre workshops in Theatr Clwyd’s building, Ffynci Jync Percussion sessions at the Masonic Hall, art and crafts at the Daniel Owen centre and live performances from artists such as Gwilym Bowen Rhys and Morgan Elwy a’r Band. There will also be DJ workshops with DJ Dilys in St Mary’s Church Hall, clog dancing and a Twmpath for the family too.

To close the Festival there will be an evening concert with popular Welsh artist Mared a’r Band, supported by Beca, Branwen, Georgia, and Hanna in St Mary’s Parish Church. Children aged between 8 and 18 are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/menteriaithffaw.

On Wednesday May 29th (half term) we would like to invite the community to Mold Library to join local illustrator Natalie Griffith and ourselves to create banners to decorate the festival. The morning session will be an opportunity to design the bannersand the afternoon session will be an open drop-in session to decorate and colour them in.
